Episode 7 – Stash Wrangling

In this episode, the Prairie Girls are shell-shocked after going through their stashes. Susie wondered if mismatched striped socks are too much for her and Danie went down the Ravelry rabbit hole.

The girls also mention (many times) the Stitched-Together podcast hosted by Chrissy and Susie mentions her Better-Than-Booties Baby Socks and her February Lady Sweater.

Contest

We want you to answer a burning question: If you were to knit socks for a celebrity, who would it be and why? To enter to win a skein of Malabrigo Rios in Archangel and a set of stitch markers handmade by Danie, please join our Ravelry group and post your answer in the contest thread. We’ll leave the thread open through September 29, 2013, and will announce the randomly-selected winner on that week’s podcast.

Events

The Nebraska Knit and Crochet Guild‘s annual retreat at Mahoney State Park is September 27 – 29.

Finished Projects

Susie finished her Viking Hat. She freely admits that this hat was made more for the photo opportunity than for any practical purpose, but found it to be a very fun knit, and is happy with how it turned out.

Current Projects

Despite not having a lot of knitting time over the past week, Danie is thinking ahead to the heels for her Copper Socks and is planning Cat Bordhi’s Sweet Tomato Heel. She’s whooshing along on her Slither Socks and is thinking of doing the Sweet Tomato heel on them as well.

Susie added a few stripes to her Kiss Me/Mother’s Day Socks and cast on a pair of toddler socks she’s calling her Dragonfly Toddler Socks. She successfully completed a short row heel using the No Wrap Short Row Heel Tutorial by Kaity Fraker, but thinks the proportions are off. Even considering toddlers’ tendency to have cankles.

Future Projects

Danie pulled from her stash Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky in Wine to figure out what it wants to be. She is considering the Glengesh Shawl  or the Spicy Fitted V Neck T from Fitted Knits.
