Finished Projects

Susie finished her Grenadine, and it is fabulous, even if she does say so herself. She pretty much loves everything about it.

Danie finished her StarBrite socks, and a third foot with which she monitored her progress. She knit a heel of her own design, and is still fine-tuning it.

Current Projects

Danie worked on her Dreambird a bit, and cast on a new Lintilla using Crock-O-Dye in the Plum Black colorway.

Susie worked on her Zigzagular Socks,  and cast on a 3/4 Hap Shawl using Malabrigo Yarn Sock in Chocolate Amargo and Violeta Africana. She had great difficulty winding the yarn for the project, but she showed it how was boss.

Susie finished her Transition Gloves! She is happy with them, but if doing so was an option for her, she’d lengthen the hand a bit.

Current Projects

Danie worked on her StarBrite socks. She is bound and determined to get them finished. Soon. She also brought her Dreambird out of hibernation and is excited to be at the halfway point and is looking forward to working more on it. And she spun! And dyed!

Susie had a son of a stitch and ripped out her  Bubble Stream socks. She also started a second pair of her Zigzagular Socks,  picked up her Elizabeth shawl, and started seaming her Grenadine. She is trying to be mindful with the seaming, and is not allowing herself to rush through it.

Truth.

Danie is thinking about trying her hand at weaving, what with all her spare time and all.

Episode 30 – Spring Knitting

Danie worked a little bit on her StarBrite socks, but focused mostly on her Miranda. She had a couple son of stitches moments, but she persevered and added a new tool to her knitting toolbox. She absolutely loves knitting with the Knit Picks Swish DK.

Susie started Grenadine with some deeply stashed Araucania Nature Wool Solids. After several false starts with alternating skeins, she zoomed through the back and has started the right front. She also turned the heel on her second Conwy sock, and started the second pattern section on the Elizabeth Shawl.

Wear Report

Danie reports the wear on the TINY tea leaves cardis she and Susie knit for her girls. It’s not good news, through no fault of the yarn.

Finished Project/2014 Ravellenics Recap

Susie finished her Ahoy Matey! or The Pirate Pullover. She has received outside approval on her seed-stitch seaming and so is satisfied. Overall she likes the project a lot, and looks forward to seeing it in action sooner than later.

Danie finished  her Middlefield Pullover. It is down to the ground amazing. She continued to battle speed bumps until the very end, having to knit the second sleeve twice after discovering four extra stitches. She is extremely happy with the fit.

Current Projects

Susie worked more on her Conwy socks, and is close to starting the heel flap. She had a son of a stitch with the Learning Curve she started Thursday evening, but rebounded with the Elizabeth Shawl, and feels it’s a good fit for the Maple Ridge Lace in the Tansy colorway.

The new meaning to Danie’s life is the Miranda sweater, inspired by a friend’s version. She is using Knit Picks Swish DK in Indigo Heather. She has a niggling doubt for some reason as to the ease, but is going to try to have faith and keep going.

Current Projects/2014 Ravellenics Recap

Susie completed the knitting on her Ahoy Matey! or The Pirate Pullover, but has stalled  on the seaming. She’s not crazy about how her seams are looking in seed stitch, but Danie assured her they are just fine. She is planning on plowing through it in the next evening or so, and move on to the buttons. After finishing the knitting, she thought she could let herself enjoy a little knitting on her Conwy socks. They are being relegated back in to hiding, though, so she finishes her Ravellenics project in time.

Danie finished the body and most of the first sleeve on her Middlefield Pullover. She had to recalculate and dramatically change the waist shaping, but this sweater will suit her perfectly so it was well worth the time and effort. She also had to re-do the sleeves a few times to get a fit she is happy with, but with the first one nearing completion she is hopeful the next sleeve will fly by.

 Future Projects

Susie has allowed herself to start thinking about knitting after the Ravellenics, and is considering the options for some Araucania Nature Wool Solids from deep in her stash. She has narrowed the choices down to Dark and Stormy, Pumpkin Ale, Brandied Cherry, or Grenadine.

Enhance the Stash

Susie got two skeins of Wollemeise Pure 100% Merino Superwash in Ein Klein Wenig Verrucht for her birthday!

Current Projects

Susie keeps on keeping on, and knit on her second Measure in Love and her Conwy socks. She hit a minor son of a stitch with her Hiro and its bust darts, but the second attempt seems to have worked out.

In a push to finish projects before the start of the Ravellenic Games, Danie focused on her StarBrite Socks.

Truth.

Susie hates green beans. A lot.
